CiderFest on Vashon 2008

When: Saturday, October 4, 2008

Where: Vashon Farmers' Market, at the Village Green, Vashon Town center ,Vashon Island.

1) Fruit Show starts at 10am at the Village Green with apple displays, and apple juice pressings presented by the Vashon Island Fruit Club.

2) Cider Tasting: 3pm-6pm, open to the public at the covered area in the Village Green. Featuring Ciders from: Blue Mountain, RedBarn, Irvine's Vintage Cider, Westcott Bay Ciders, Eaglemount Winery and Cidery. Fee for glass and 10 tokens.

3) Cider Competition: Cider tasters can vote for their favorite top three ciders. The winners announced at the dinner.

4) Four course dinner will be presented by the The Hardware Store Restaurant in the town of Vashon for $50 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity. Presented with a selection of four or five ciders. Dinner will be served from 6:30-9pm. Only40 spaces are available

December 2007, Northwest Cidermakers took three of the five gold medals and Best of Show awarded at the 3rd Great Lakes Olde World Cyder competition held in Grand Rapid, Michigan December 9,2007. GLOWS is the only all cider competition in North America and adhires to Beer Judge Certification Program(BJCP) guidelines.
